How big is the difference between Russian and American education?

— It is insanely great. It's all in the approach and expected results. In Russia, residents are preparing for 2 years, during which they just observe the work of experienced surgeons. The American system involves 6 years of education, and the resident does the surgery and takes an active part in the lives of patients. So the output is a trained specialist who knows how and what to do in the surgery.

— Based on the quality of American urology?

— In Russia the patients considering doctors as individuals, their skills and level of knowledge. In America, too, there are a great many highly skilled professionals. But, unlike Russia, the Americans have a certain standard of work, which must comply with each specialist. It could be better, but worst of all. In this trouble of the Russian medicine – no single platform, based on which the experts could reach an acceptable level, which in the end the patients suffer.
